Jersey gets serviced

Fortunately, targets were achieved and the service team travelled to sunny Jersey. And what a wonderful action packed activity weekend we had. Land yachting, sea canoeing, cliff jumping, followed by a round the island cycle ride and clay pigeon shooting to finish. Link that with no sleep, a few beers, a curry or two, and it made for quite an action-packed weekend. Everyone helped each other in achieving things that previously might not have been possible.

Peter does mandarin

Condor Director Peter Robertson is also a Director of the Southampton Chamber of Commerce. In that role Peter has, in the past, led a trade mission to the Chinese Port of Qingdao, which is twinned with Southampton. Qingdao will be hosting this years Olympic sailing events and the Chamber was keen to send a goodluck message. Peter has been taking lessons in Mandarin and duly stepped up to the mark. We haven’t a clue if his message of goodwill made any sense but we did receive half a crispy duck with special fried rice 10 minutes later!

Servicing Bruges

Another successful service trip completed, this time the picturesque town of Bruges in Belgium. Late nights, lots to eat and drink and a host of historic venues to visit "what a weekend". On reflection although a quieter type of city than Barcelona we still had lots of fun linked with fond memories. The one that sticks in my mind will be leaving a bar in the early hours of Saturday morning with Steve one of the engineers wobbling and knocking over a complete row of parked bicycles, to make it worse he was wearing a ladies fitted jacket which obviously belonged to someone else. A good time was had by all. Thanks again to Condor for rewarding dedicated hard work!

Viva Barcelona!

As a thank you for their great efforts and to foster team spirit our service department have a weekend away each year. This years trip was to Barcelona and took in all the sights and sounds of this great city including the Football Stadium, Los Ramblas, and the Cathedral. Highlight of the weekend however was without doubt an incident at the beach in the early hours of Saturday night, when a number of the team braved a skinny dip. Potential disaster struck when some clothing was stolen by local tearaways. Spirits were not to be dampened however and special mention must go to Andy who spent the rest of the night with a strategically tied jumper instead of his trousers.
