30th April 2010Canon’s new iPF6350 large format printer scoops TIPA awarCanon’s recently launched imagePROGRAF iPF6350 has won the Best Large Format Printer award from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA), Europe’s leading independent photo and imaging press association. The awards honour the most innovative products on the market, including the market-leading quality of Canon’s photo and printing products. Gill Mussell, Product Marketing, imagePROGRAF, Canon UK says, “This award is testament to the investment Canon makes in its Large Format Printers and we are delighted that the imagePROGRAF iPF6350 has won. We only launched the iPF6350 last month (along with the imagePROGRAF iPF6300 and imagePROGRAF iPF8300) so this is a fantastic accolade for the new product.” The TIPA judging panel recognised the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6350 for its ability to fulfil the demands of professional photography users and produce prints with increased accuracy of dot placement and a wider colour gamut, enabled by the new Canon LUCIA EX pigment ink system. The panel also acknowledged the quality of the device’s colour calibration function that uses an internal high-performance multi-sensor to achieve consistency of colour reproduction. 23rd November 2009Canon imagePROGRAF 8100 out-performs the Epson Stylus Pro 9880 in Ink Consumption testsAs BLI’s test results illustrate, the Canon imagePROGRAF 8100 proved to be more efficient in its ink consumption than the Epson Stylus Pro 9880. In highest resolution mode (maximum 600 dpi) the Canon imagePROGRAF 8100 used 172.7g of ink, which equates to 4.1% of a complete set of 330ml ink cartridges, while the Epson Stylus Pro 9880, in its highest resolution print mode (2800 dpi x 1400 dpi) used 291.8g of ink, which equates to 36.3% of a complete set of 110ml ink cartridges. 4th August 2008Canon and EFI win plaudits for the imagePROGRAF iPF5100 and iPF6100 LFPs Canon is please to announce that it has been awarded prestigious accolades for the abilities of its leading large format printers, the imagePROGRAF iPF5100 and the imagePROGRAF iPF6100. Both printers, running with an EFI Colorproof XF RIP, were awarded FOGRA certification for their print qualities, whilst the iPF5100 was also presented with the European Digital Press Association award for its proofing abilities. Other Great News...In an in dependant lab test conducted by BLI the iPF8100 was proven to be substantially faster than the competition.
Both printers used Glossy A0 paper, printing in standard mode. Ink usage was also impressive with the iPF8100 using 31.6% less ink than the Epson Pro 9800 series. This test was conducted independently by BLI (www.buyerslab.com). A full copy of the report is available from them on request. |
25th July 2008Buyers Laboratory International UK Ltd (BLI) recently completed a comparative test between the Canon imagePROGRAF 8000S and the HP DesignJet Z6100r.Buyers Laboratory International UK Ltd (BLI), situated in Wokingham, UK, was commissioned by Canon Europe to conduct an ink consumption analysis between the 44" Canon imagePROGRAF 8000S and the 42" HP DesignJet Z6100. The purpose of the test was to objectively compare the ink usage between the two devices in standard mode when using the ISO/JIS SCID No.5 Test Pattern tiled to create 42" x 52.5" images. As BLI’s test results illustrate, the Canon imagePROGRAF 8000S proved to be more efficient in its ink consumption. Read the full report here (PDF) |

14th May 2008Canon launches the imagePROGRAF iPF720Canon has announced the launch of the new imagePROGRAF iPF720 (A0 – 36”), a large format printer which boasts an 80GB hard disk drive. Created for the CAD and GIS market users who have requirements for multiple users of the printer, the imagePROGRAF iPF720 has a built-in hard disk drive to enable faster throughput of printed jobs, optimising between-page processing to enhance productivity in consecutive printing. The new device is among the fastest in its class for these markets. The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF720 offers an 80GB hard disk drive, enabling customers to use the additional capacity as an extra tool to manage their printing, as well as additional benefits, such as being able to create print mailboxes and store jobs for quick and easy access at the printer of those jobs for reprints. It also enables print job queue management for priority printing and desktop management of ink and media levels. The imagePROGRAF iPF720 can produce an A0-sized output in only 56 seconds. The machine has HP-GL/2 and HP RTL compatibility, as well as an HDI driver for windows, which means that it is compatible with leading applications used by GIS and CAD professionals. Shane Burchett, LFP Product Professional, Canon UK, says: “The launch of the new imagePROGRAF iPF720 means that we can further increase market share in the CAD and GIS markets. We now have a product that is not only one of the fastest in its class, but also boasts the additional benefit of a built-in hard disk drive. All this in addition to its compatibility with industry standards and a range of features creating image quality that is second to none.” The imagePROGRAF iPF720 has Canon’s FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) high-precision printhead technology, along with Canon’s five-colour dye-and-pigment ink system for optimal results in your business. Capable of creating ink droplets as small as four picolitres in size and with more than 15,000 nozzles, the Canon printhead ensures accuracy and image sharpness, and delivers a resolution of 1,200 dpi, allowing users to reproduce fine lines and small characters without distortion. The five-colour reactive ink system enhances the quality of prints by ensuring that there is less bleeding and solid image consistency, therefore delivering output that retains more accuracy and sharpness – however detailed. 5th December 2007Canon Wins Construction Computing Magazine Editor’s Choice AwardCanon’s imagePROGRAF 700 wins prestigious, Editor’s Choice Award at The Hammers II Construction computing Magazine’s annual awards. Quality large format print aimed directly at the CAD market was cited as the key to Canon’s success. REIGATE, December 4th, 2007 – Canon UK, world leader in digital imaging technology, today announced that it has taken the highly coveted Editor’s Choice Award at the recent Construction Computing Awards (The Hammers II) in London. The award, which is in recognition of Canon’s contribution to the colour printing industry, credits Canon’s flagship CAD/GIS printer, the imagePROGRAF 700. Editor of Construction Computing Magazine, David Chadwick said, “I am delighted to be able to put forward Canon as this year’s Editor’s Choice.
